Baptism
BAPTISM IN THE PARISH:
You are all most welcome to have your children baptised in our loving parish community. Baptisms are celebrated on the second and fourth Sundays of the month at 11AM. Baptism preparation is held on the FIRST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH. This allows parents and care givers to understand a little more closely what they are doing for their children.
PARENTS AND CARE GIVERS
For a child to be baptised, one parent must be Catholic. Signatures of both parents are needed for the Baptism to occur. Without both signatures the Baptism is not permitted. Birth certificates are needed for the Baptism to occur and the Baptism certificates are needed for the Catholic parents.
GOD PARENTS
It is the requirement to have a God parent per child. God parents need to have been baptised themselves and have been fully initiated into the Church. This means they need to have received their first communion and been confirmed. A copy of their Baptism certificate is required.
